Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 4 fresh skin-on salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil (plus extra for drizzling)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Optional Garnishes

  • 2 tablespoons fresh pomegranate seeds
  • Chopped fresh parsley, dill, or thyme

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses, 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice, and a drizzle of olive oil. Whisk until smooth and well-blended to create the sweet and tangy glaze.
  2. Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels, then season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper to enhance flavor and ensure a crisp, golden exterior.
  3. Apply the Pomegranate Glaze: Brush one side of each salmon fillet generously with the prepared glaze. Reserve some glaze for brushing halfway through cooking to maximize flavor.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer and Cook: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the basket without overcrowding. Cook for 7 minutes, then brush the exposed side with more glaze. Continue cooking for an additional 3-5 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the glaze is caramelized.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove salmon from the air fryer and let rest for 1 minute. Sprinkle with fresh pomegranate seeds and optional chopped herbs for a vibrant, flavorful finish. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Choose wild-caught salmon for better flavor and texture.
  • Pat salmon dry thoroughly for the best glaze adherence and even cooking.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness and proper air circulation.
  • Use a silicone brush for easy and even application of the glaze.
  • Check internal temperature aiming for 125–130°F for medium doneness.
  • Glaze can be made up to a week in advance and stored refrigerated.
  • Reheat leftovers gently in the air fryer at 300°F for 3–5 minutes to maintain crispness.
