Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Vegetables

  • 8 oz thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced bell peppers (any color)
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced onions
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Cheese

  • 4 oz shredded provolone or American cheese

Wrappers and Seasonings

  • 810 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Water (for sealing wrappers)

Frying

  • Vegetable oil (for frying, enough to submerge egg rolls)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: Sauté the thinly sliced onions and bell peppers in a hot pan with a bit of oil over medium heat until softened and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Add the thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin, cooking quickly until just browned. Stir in the minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce, then season with salt and pepper. Remove the pan from heat and immediately mix in the shredded cheese, allowing it to melt into the warm filling.
  2. Assemble the Egg Rolls: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape with one corner pointing toward you. Spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons of the filling into the center. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in the two side corners tightly, and then roll the wrapper upward. Seal the top corner with a dab of water to keep the egg roll closed during frying.
  3. Fry Until Golden and Crispy: Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C), enough to fully submerge the egg rolls. Carefully place the egg rolls in the hot oil without overcrowding. Fry for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve Warm: Let the egg rolls rest a couple of minutes to cool slightly inside while remaining crisp outside. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces such as spicy mustard, ranch, or blue cheese for an irresistible appetizer experience.

Notes

  • Use thinly sliced beef to ensure quick cooking and tender filling.
  • Do not overfill the wrappers to prevent bursting during frying.
  • Seal the egg roll wrappers well with water to avoid leaks.
  • Maintain oil temperature between 350-375°F for perfect golden crispiness.
  • Allow cooked egg rolls to rest on paper towels to reduce greasiness and keep them crunchy.
