Garlic Chicken Ramen

Garlic Chicken Ramen is a comforting and savory dish featuring tender chicken thighs, aromatic garlic, and chewy ramen noodles in a rich chicken broth. This quick and easy recipe blends bold, balanced flavors with cozy textures for a nourishing and satisfying meal perfect for weeknights or any time you crave a warm bowl of ramen.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs

Aromatics & Seasonings

  • 46 fresh garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Broth & Noodles

  • 4 cups high-quality chicken broth
  • 200 g fresh or dried ramen noodles

Fresh Toppings

  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Optional: soft-boiled eggs, mushrooms, corn, seaweed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper. Heat a pan over medium-high heat, then cook the chicken until browned on all sides and fully cooked through, locking in the juices and building rich flavor.
  2. Sauté Garlic: Using the same pan, add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant and golden, being careful not to burn it. This creates the aromatic base for the broth.
  3. Make the Broth: Pour in the chicken broth, soy sauce, and sesame oil into the pan with garlic. Bring to a gentle simmer to let the flavors meld while you prepare the noodles.
  4. Cook the Noodles: Boil the ramen noodles separately according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain and rinse briefly to remove excess starch and prevent sticking.
  5. Assemble the Bowl: Place the cooked noodles in serving bowls, top with the garlic chicken, pour over the hot broth, and finish with fresh toppings like sliced green onions, soft-boiled eggs, or any other favorites.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic instead of garlic powder for the most authentic, deep flavor.
  • Do not overcook the noodles; cook until just tender to maintain a perfect chewy texture.
  • Simmer the broth gently instead of boiling to retain liquid and develop flavor.
  • For enhanced umami, add a dash of fish sauce if desired.
  • Pour hot broth over noodles and toppings immediately before serving to keep the dish warm and textures intact.
