Instructions

  1. Brown the Ground Beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add oil or butter, then cook the ground beef until browned and crumbly. Remove beef and set aside.
  2. Sauté Onions, Garlic, and Mushrooms: In the same skillet, add butter and cook chopped onions, garlic, and mushrooms until soft and caramelized.
  3. Make the Sauce: Sprinkle flour over the vegetable mixture and stir to coat. Slowly add beef broth while stirring to prevent lumps, then simmer until sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Combine Beef and Sour Cream: Return browned beef to the skillet, reduce heat to low, and gently mix in sour cream until a creamy, smooth sauce forms without curdling.
  5. Cook the Noodles: Meanwhile, cook egg noodles or your chosen pasta according to package directions. Drain and either add to the skillet or serve alongside the stroganoff.
